Doug Stearns is a Los Angeles-based set designer whose work is shaped by a blend of artistic sensibilities and hands-on craftsmanship. Raised by an artist and a contractor, Doug grew up surrounded by both the creative and practical aspects of design, which fostered an understanding of how art and structure can work in harmony. Influenced by the layered aesthetic of collages, Doug’s work features a combination of textures, materials, objects and spatial arrangements. With a background in construction and a Bachelor of Fine Arts, Doug has lent his talents to a wide range of projects, including paintings, collages, art installations, and custom fabrication of set pieces. Recent projects include all Look-books and content shoots for Mother Denim, special projects for Billabong, editorial shoots for W Mag Korea and Machen Machen studio.
